Hey, hey it’s JJ! For this week’s Fan Girl Friday, I’m fangirling over someone who reminds us that slowing down is not a luxury, it’s essential. Today’s spotlight is on Mariel Wilk, a mindfulness guide, movement facilitator, and community builder who leads with intention, kindness, and heart.


Meet Mariel

I met Mariel back in 2017 at Moishe House, shortly after I moved to Arizona. When everything felt new and unfamiliar, she was one of the first people to truly welcome me.


Her calm energy and thoughtful presence immediately stood out.


Since then, I’ve watched Mariel grow and evolve in her work. From yoga and movement to mindfulness practices that encourage reflection, awareness, and connection. What she offers isn’t just a class or an experience. It’s an invitation to slow down and be present in your life.

  • Creativity That Inspires Kindness. One of my favorite examples of her work is her annual birthday kindness scavenger hunt. It’s a gentle, joyful reminder that choosing kindness can shift how we move through the world.


  • A True Community Builder. Mariel has a gift for bringing people together. She fosters safe, inclusive spaces where people feel supported, seen, and encouraged to grow at their own pace.
